Hiring a top-notch, qualified, and proven Economic Development Director is a critical first move. This leader should have a track record in economic development, showcasing success in similar communities - in particular communities similar to ours. Once appointed, the administrator will focus on several key initiatives:1. Economic Assessment and Planning: Conduct a thorough analysis of the city's current economic situation, identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. In 2021, the current administration abruptly removed all members of the Library Board and replaced them with friends, family, and political associates. The highly qualified Library Director was removed, along with most of the books in the library. Today, you're more likely to be able to rent the library as a private venue space than to use it as a place to read, research, or learn.
